July was a fun month. We were able to go to Utah for the 4
th to spend time with Patrick's family. It was lots of fun and we miss them being so far away! We were also lucky to have our nephew Carlos come to visit! We haven't seen him for years and it was so much fun to have him in our home. Anthony really enjoyed having an 'older brother' for a couple of weeks.
July 2nd
We left for Utah on July 1st after Pat got off work. We drove about half way and pulled off on the side of the road to camp (I know we are complete psychos!). It actually turned out really well. Besides the fact that it was raining most of the way, it was midnight (so we couldn't see where we were setting up camp) and it was freezing and the ground was wet and soggy...Once we got the tent up and the bags in, we slept well. We woke up the next morning in a beautiful meadow of wildflowers. We were in such a hurry to hit the road we didn't take a picture, but we want to go back to the area and camp again. On our way again we saw tons of deer grazing by the forest roads. It was so neat! Anthony talked about the deer eating grass for days.
July 3rdThe great thing about Utah is they have great holiday fairs. Sandy, UT had a cute & FREE little fair just down the street from Aunt Josie's house. Here is our gang of children as we head to the fair! It was so cute that everyone held hands!

Firefighting cousins! (Katie Perry, Tanner
Farnsworth, Anthony and Carter Perry) We couldn't believe Anthony actually stuck his head in the hole!

Anthony cheating at the game of ring toss to win his prize (He's supposed to be behind the yellow line)

Yeah Anthony! Good throw...

Meagan was so excited about all the free crafts. Anthony wanted to make a puppet first...

Anthony got bored with the coloring pretty fast...so Meagan quickly colored the mane so Anthony could wear the puppet

Second, Anthony decorated an airplane. First the sticker

Lastly the color. Anthony decided to use all the crayons at once :)

Cousin Molly
Farnsworth is so good with our boys (we sure do wish we could have her babysit!). She convince Anthony to get his face painted. And he did so well being patient while he was being painted.

ROAR! Anthony wanted a dragon on his face. He talked about it weeks!

Anthony showing me his dragon while being careful not to touch it...such a good boy

Carter Perry, Tanner
Farnsworth and Anthony with their new faces!

Adrian is wondering where his dragon is...

Brooklyn Perry

After the fair we headed back to the
Farnsworth's. Anthony loved the scooters!

Though he wasn't very good without Dad's help. He just pushed it along :)
Westin Farnsworth on his skateboard. And yes his shoes are Hulk green! I guess they broke and he taped them up with neon green tape and still wears them every day!

On July 4
th we headed up to the mountains to chill in the Shirley's (Josie's in-laws) cabin. Being so relaxed we didn't take any pictures!
Argh! But we had so much fun.
Shaye Perry (Pat's Uncle) brought his hunting bow and we all got take turns shooting. Meagan loves shooting...though she better with a shotgun the a bow and arrow. Patrick's shots were pretty good (better than Meagan's). Anthony even got a turn to shoot and of course loved it! It was great to spend time with Grandpa
Nemecio (Pat's Grandpa). Patrick spent a lot of time talking with Grandpa on the patio enjoying the nice weather. We all had a great time humiliating ourselves attempting to do the hanger trick! (We will have to post those pics, they're hilarious!)
July 13thCarlos and his mom Danielle recently moved to San Diego so they are so close to us now. Patrick and Jess were able to meet them in Yuma (which is almost half way) so Carlos could spend a couple weeks with and his dad, Carlos (Patrick's brother).
The night Carlos arrived, Adrian decided to walk! It was fun to have our boys and Carlos laughing and playing together. We are so glad that Carlos got to share Adrian's first steps with us. Adrian kept following Carlos around, it was so cute!
Here is Adrian standing up...
July 14thAnthony loves to be silly. Today he put the Mr. Potato head glasses on his face

Don't you love that he is trying to look through the lenses?

July 18thIt is so hot in AZ in the summer. Carlos wanted to swim as much as he could. We went to the zoo and after walking around melting, so made it to the splash park. Carlos enjoyed cooling off in the waterfall. And when we were all done he was dry in no time.

Adrian walking around the sprinklers

Caught Anthony as he came out the tree stump

This picture is so funny! The sprinkler makes it look like Anthony is peeing!

Anthony loves the bridge but never dared to go inside the tunnel. Meagan dragged him through once hoping he would conquer his fear, but Anthony screamed the whole way

Lastly we came to the Savannah exhibit. Carlos getting a close up view of the Giraffes.

This Giraffe is leaning over the wire fence to feed on the bush. It was so neat to watch

On Friday nights we have a date night swap with our friends the Kaufman's. It was our turn to watch Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn is about 2 months older than Adrian and they love to play. Here they are sharing their chocolate rice cakes on the stairs
July 24thCarlos had never been camping and we love to go, so we took him and Jess camping for the weekend. It was lots of fun. We love camping because it is about the only time that Patrick and Meagan get to slow down and be carefree. The boys love it too (probably because we aren't so stressed).
While we were unloading the car, Adrian found the cheese grater and seriously carried around the campsite the entire weekend.

Jessica, Carlos, Anthony and Adrian sitting around our 'latern fire'
July 25thThe next day we went to the fish hatchery and did some hiking. The hatchery smelled awful and fishy, but it was cool to the so many fish pakced together. All three boys enjoyed feeding the fish and the squirrels.
Before we took a lunch break, we hiked up a short trail to a creek. Patrick and Anthony

Jessica has a natural talent with kids. She was so helpful with Carlos

Carlos

say: CHEESE! Jess!

Anthony fell asleep in his backpack

We didn't know what the trail was called, but when we got to the creek we discovered this tattered sign...

It was so beautiful!

Just looks like paradise!

Adrian is teething and discovered the mesh flap on his cover makes a good chew toy.

Sceneary on our hike out. From the clouds it looks like a storm is brewing.

Meagan and Adrian

After the hike we at lunch at the car. Carlos discovered this skunk looking beetle crossing teh street. IT nearly got hit a couple of times, but it made it across the street :)

On the drive back to camp, we decided to get some firewood. Patrick let Carlos use the hatchet to cut some wood. Carlos was so careful and really enjoyed it.

Anthony and Adrian waiting for wood to eb loaded.

Silly faces

Meagan loves watching Patrick chop wood. There's just nothing like watching a man throw an axe.

Patrick chopped so hard the axe broke! Good thing Ace Hardware has an excellant return policy!

Adrian digging and getting as messy as possible.

Anthony sporting a mustache...almost a goatee

Anthony loves to rub short hair. Jessica was so nice to let Anthony rub her hair when he was sleepy

Carlos was so excited to make Smores..until he tasted them and decided he didn't like em. He did enjoy flame cooking his dogs

Patrick and Adrian making faces
July 27thTime to take Carlos home. We were so glad to have Carlos visit. Hopefully we can see him again soon.
On the way home from Yuma, we stopped to get some In-N-Out and the boys were all giggles and burgers.

Meagan loves these pictures of Adrian taking tiny bits out of his huge burger.

Anthony's making silly faces or maybe he is just chewing with his mouth open

Meagan couldn't leave Patrick out of the picture taking fun! Meagan used to take pictures of Patrick while he was driving all the time. Sometimes it is fun to relive the good 'old' days.

The boys kept doing things at the same time, like poking at their cups

Later that night, Anthony became very interested in Patrick's motorcycle magazine. It was really cute because Anthony would point to something and ask: "What's that?". Patrick would tell him waht it was then Anthony would ask: "What's it do?". Patrick would explain it then Anthony would go: "OH!". Then start over: "What's that?"

Adrian didn't understand all the interest in the magazine

Until he got to sit on Daddy's lap

Anthony 'reading' the magazine
