May Memories

May was an exciting month. Meagan graduated from Northern Arizona University and we got Patrick's bar results...and he passed! YEAH!! Patrick is officially Esquire Patrick Lopez :)

May 7th

Grammie came to attend Meagan graduation. She came bearing gifts for the boys:

Dr. Seuss Books for Anthony

Musical A-B-C drum for Adrian

Grammie also gave Anthony a giraffe game. Anthony loves to play games.

May 8th

Graduation Day! This was the first and last time Meagan ever stepped foot on NAU campus. We got there a little early and Patrick was wondering what to do and Meagan jokingly suggested Patrick buy her flowers. Meagan was waiting in the bleachers inside when her phone rang and Patrick asked her to come out. When she came out Patrick and Grammie surprised her with a purple lea of fresh flowers.

Patrick and Anthony sporting NAU colors while watching the ceremonies.

All over! It happened so fast it seemed unreal. But it is official and is so liberating!

The next day we took Grammie to the Phoenix Zoo. Grammie braving the Giraffe tree house with Anthony. Anthony loves to go up but doesn't like going down.

Anthony loves to walk back and forth across the bridge. Grammie is following close after.

Grammie had even circles and Adrian was ready to move on, so Grammie carried Anthony down since he wouldn't come down on his own.

This is the only time we've seen all 5 giraffe's close together.

The warthogs are never out. This is first time we've seen them. They aren't the prettiest creatures, but they are exhibiting their true nature as pigs by wallowing in the mud :)

The zoo opened a new playground/splash area. So, after lunch, we let them cool off in the water.
Anthony isn't fond of unpredictable water shooting from unpredictable directions, so he stayed in the "lazy stream".

Anthony is our little scientist. He discovered that the stream had a current and placed several leaves in the water and watched as they went under the bridge.

Adrian was a little braver...but got stuck in a circle of water...and then sprayed in the tummy

Adrian's all cooled off and ready for a nap

May 13th

Meagan is the Activity Day leader and for Mother's Day she had a Mother/Daughter dinner. In preparation, Meagan decided to mow the very neglected grass. First she picked up all the dog poop, which took an hour (YUCK!). Then she mowed the grass. Meagan took a picture of her pile of grass because it was HUGE! 4' long by 3' wide and 1' foot deep!

Adrian discovered a new trick while pictures were being taken...crawling through the island.

Since Grammie stayed for Meagan's mother-daughter dinner, Meagan and the boys went out to Dallas to visit Grammie, Pappie, Nathaniel, and Bradley.

May 18th
Bradley took a shower and stuck his finger the socket! Just kidding, he just spiked his hair. Roscoe is checking to make sure there are no fatal injuries.
Adrian begging to go inside
Adrian wanted to go inside until Daniel came out with dinner.
Anthony discovered a small patch of mud
And got really messy
and messy!
He's not going to get very clean by rubbing his hands together. Meagan actually chased Anthony around the yard with the hose until he was mostly clean then gave him a good scrubbing.

May 19th

Meagan's parents and sister live in Flower Mound Texas. The city was named after a real mound that grows wild flowers. The next day, we all went to 'THE' flower mound. This plaque gives the history of the flower mound.
Here are some pics of the wild flowers
Daniel touching the flowers as he's strolled by them
There were lots of little butterflies fluttering around the flowers

There were also lots of bees
Anthony holding Grammie hostage behind the gate.

Here we are at the top of the mound. Anthony smelling the flowers.
Daniel picking flowers

Adrian doesn't like the texture of grass :(

The boys 4 generations from Mommie's side
Katrina helping Daniel walk in the grass. Daniel loved the flowers!

Anthony is quite the escape artist. GGM (great-granddaddy) came to his rescue. Although he ran away. This was a cute shot of GGM and Anthony holding hands
Daniel also loves his hats!
GGM (great-grandmommie) and GGD; Grammie's parents
Meagan had to stroll the boys down in the stroller because Anthony though escape was funny and Adrian didn't like the grass. GGM brightened Anthony's spirit by bringing him a flower
After lunch we went to the neighborhood pool. The boys loved playing and splashing in the kiddie pool. When we left we had too much to carry, so GGD carried the crab floating on his head.
Uncle Nathaniel (finally got him on camera!) is taking guitar lessons. Anthony and Adrian both love music and naturally found his guitar fascinating. Anthony is getting his first strumming lesson.
Uncle Bradley got a snare drum, which Adrian was quite attracted to.
Adrian could reach the top of the drum, so he settled for drumming his feet.

May 28th

Made it home safely. Adrian's new favorite trick is climbing onto the chair from GGM and GGD
Hopefully Anthony will outgrow this habit...the thumb sucking at least. This huge purple brush has since been lost, believe it or not
Anthony can find bugs everywhere, even the bugs that blend in with the kitchen floor.
