January Updates

January 3rd

In the fall, Patrick had been working and going to school full time. Since Patrick works for the law school, he had a few weeks off. What better way to spend free time than with your family at the zoo! The zoo has become Anthony's favorite past time. Maybe one day we will live a little closer and we can go more often. This time when we went we decided to go last minute, and got there right as the zoo was closing. So being the classy people we are ran in to see as many animals as we could before they kicked us out :)

The boys are having with Dad

Darn Flash! This was co cute...Anthony is screaming 'Monkey'!

The Rhino's are Anthony's favorite. We have been lucky, the past few times we have come they have been out eating

The tiger was so close to the wall. Their beauty is mesmerizing

At the lion 'den' Anthony discovered he could reach the info button. Not that Anthony can understand what it says, but it was cute to watch him discover the cause/effect of touching the button

The lions were so active! The male looked right at us. Then he starting roaring! The male was standing in front of the female as though claiming or protecting her.

Gampa gave Anthony and Adrian some money for Christmas. So with it we got the boys some toys, including a sandbox. They love it! Though now our patio is covered in a layer of sand, we are glad the boys have something constructive to do in the back yard

And the sad tail of Adrian begins...

After pictures, Meagan put the boys to down for a nap. When she heard Adrian wake up she was surprised at she saw

Meagan's sister Nichole came for a few days while she went to a friend's wedding. Meagan's brother Sean also came to spend a few days. While Nichole was at the wedding, we went to the Pima Air and Space Museum. We met our friends Cary and Sarah and their son Byron. Patrick had to work, so Meagan took a picture of his favorite plane...this was huge! Meagan was standing clear in other room and couldn't get the tail end or front tip in the picture
Sean is such a great Uncle! He kept was helpful and patient with Anthony.
Sean teaching Anthony how to fly

Anthony couldn't wait to go outside, so Uncle Sean took him

Uncle Sean showing Anthony the inside of plane

Uncle Sean even carried Anthony and let him play his hair

Anthony strutting his stuff

Byron strutting his stuff

Of course, Anthony favorite planes, were the "sharks"

Meagan liked this one because it looks like a whale

Tired from walking nearly the whole museum, we found an area where we could sit and Anthony could 'drive' old Army trucks

This plane is tiny! Hehehe..it is called the bumblebee

Adrian has always been a happy baby. But starting the beginning of January he started becoming fussy. Then fussiness started getting out of control....Adrian is not happy...

Looking at these pictures now I think "why didn't we notice!" Adrian was throwing screaming fits and would hold his head and pull his hair...we thought he was just teething.

Though Adrian is screaming...Anthony is enjoying the Rollerblades!

January 24th
We have had a mouse problem and got some sticky traps from our pest control company. We caught 5 mice! If we had anymore we think they left because our bags of dog food no longer have holes in the corner. The last mouse we caught was so noisy that Anthony heard it. He kept saying "There's a mouse! Hear the mouse? Where's the mouse?" So we showed Anthony where the mouse was and the dogs were quick catch on. The mouse was close enough to cover of the dishwasher that you could see its foot. So we gave Anthony a flash light and he created the perfect picture!

Adrian asks: "What's a mouse?"
Well Adrian, this is a mouse
We were persistent in telling Anthony he couldn't touch the mouse; he just had to use his eyes. Anthony was at Daddy's side while Dad took the mouse out and put it in the bag.
Anthony was so sad when Dad took the mouse to the garage without him. We were happy to show Anthony the mouse, but thought watching him die would be too much for him to understand. It was so sad! Anthony talked about the mouse for weeks. Every once in a while Anthony will still say "The mouse is with Jesus"
Adrian thought Anthony's crying was hilarious
Again, "how didn't we notice!" Just looking at Adrian's eyes, you can tell something is wrong. When Adrian would nurse he would only eat maybe 2-3 minutes a side. And he would scream the whole time. While feeding him solids, he would stop, scream, hold his head and pull his hair. Meagan thought he was teething. When this lasted for 2.5 weeks we started to get worried. Meagan was worried her milk supply had diminished. At Adrian's 9 month well visit those worries were confirmed. At 6 months Adrian weighed 18 pounds. At Adrian's 9 month well visit he barely weighed 17.5 pounds. Meagan had stopped producing milk and Adrian was holding his head and screaming because he was getting headaches from being hungry. We immediately started him on formula and the effects were immediate! From the moment he drank his first bottle of formula, Adrian was instantly smiling and happy. The same night of his first bottle, Adrian started rolling again and trying to crawl. Now Adrian is able to sit up on his own, nearly pull himself up, and crawl a few steps. Adrian's progress has tripled and he is happier than ever. This has to be the worst parenting mistake we have made thus far. We hope Adrian doesn't have any long term effects from our mistake.

It's fun to catch up on what you guys have been up to. I guess you have more time with spring break! :) You can't blame yourself about Adrian- if you knew, then you would've done something. I probably would've thought it was teething, too.
